With us all spending so much more time at home these days thanks to the global pandemic and lockdown restrictions, it’s the perfect opportunity to do some renovation work around the house – and it may well be that the garden could use a bit of tender loving care right now.
It can be a lot harder doing up the exterior of the property than the interior, however, and it can be tricky to know where to begin – so if you’re keen to start landscaping or planting some new shrubs and plants, here are a couple of the best apps out there to lend a helping hand.
Garden Tags
This is a great app for gardeners of all abilities, whether you’re a novice or an expert. It provides plant identification, growing advice, plant care instructions, inspiration and a whole lot more. And you can log and manage every single plant you have in your garden so you can track their progress over the seasons and find out how best to care for them.
SmartPlant
Chances are you’ll come across a plant growing in your garden, with no idea what it is. That’s where this app really comes into its own. You can upload a picture of it and an expert gardener will be in touch to tell you all about it.
You’re also able to ask any and all plant questions you may have and discover new plants from a database of more than 20,000 to really help your garden grow.
Grow Your Own
If you want to have a flourishing herb, fruit and vegetable garden, check out the RHS’s Grow Your Own app. You’ll have all the tools to help you choose the right produce based on your knowledge level and how much space and time you have, as well as access to expert advice to do with growing, sowing and harvesting.
