With a new year somehow not all that far away, we thought we’d take a quick look at some of the predicted landscaping trends for 2027 to give you some food for thought.

1. Low-maintenance good looks
A trend we expect many of our customers to get behind, 2027 is expected to see low-maintenance gardens come to the fore even more, spaces that look good throughout the year without requiring too much in the way of upkeep.
To achieve this, focus on durable, practical landscaping materials and plants that are easy to look after, those that don’t require heavy watering, pruning or regular repotting.
2. Therapeutic horticulture
This approach to gardening is sure to make big waves in the year ahead, where outdoor spaces are tailored to support both physical and emotional health and wellbeing.
Make this a priority by engaging as many of the senses as you can in the garden, growing herbs like mint and rosemary, bringing in textured plants like lamb’s ear, bringing in your favourite colours throughout the space and so on.
And ensure that there’s a quiet nook set aside for peace and contemplation, so you can take the time to sit, relax and observe nature and your surroundings.
3. The colour blue!
Blue can be a tricky colour to prioritise in the garden, as it only appears in less than ten per cent of flowering plants, but regardless of this, it’s still predicted to be one of the top colours for gardens next year.
If you want to embrace as much blue as possible, look out for plants like blue hostas, hydrangeas, delphinium, agapanthus, lithodora and iris.
