Gardening enthusiasts the UK over will no doubt be very excited to learn that a new TV series for More4 has just been commissioned by IWC, with a team of judges – including famed presenter and avid gardener herself Zoe Ball – scouring the length and breadth of the country to find the nation’s Garden of the Year.
The six-part series will feature four contrasting gardens in each episode, each one representing the best of garden design in their local area, but in different ways. Each garden will receive a score out of ten, based on visual impact, imaginative design and horticultural value.
Zoe will be joined by award-winning garden designer Manoj Malde and Lachlan Rae, former young horticulturalist of the year on the search for the most beautiful home gardens in the UK, ranging from cosy urban spaces to hilltop locations, contemporary designs and quintessentially English country gardens.
The winning gardens from every episode will go on to take part in the grand finale, with one very special garden taking home the title of Garden of the Year.
Zoe said: “It’s a joy to be able to spend a summer in some of the most wonderful gardens in the country. The level of creativity and flair on show is incredible and it’s inspirational to see how our contenders have made their outdoors spaces into beautiful, relaxing havens.
“I think this will be a treat for any viewer, whether they are looking for ideas themselves or just enjoy a peek at gorgeous gardens.”
While you’re waiting for this TV series to drop, you’ll be pleased to hear that there are lots of other shows you can stream right now to help you get your gardening fix. Check out the likes of The Big Flower Fight on Netflix, The Instant Gardener on Apple TV or Grow, Cook, Eat on Amazon Prime!
